GFM ClearComms is proud to announce that we will once again be supporting Children in Need with their annual fundraising telethon event this year, which will take place on November 16th, by providing a variety of our award-winning services including; data handling and reporting, automating donation and auction lines, website management, email marketing and donation processing and banking.
Since 1980 Children in Need, the BBC’s UK corporate charity, has raised over £700 million to help change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK, and last year its live show raised over £50 million; smashing its previous record for the most money raised on the night. Children in Need also provides grants to projects in the UK, which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. These projects are located throughout the UK and support small and large organisations that empower children and extend their life choices.
Back in 2005 Children in Need contacted GFM to help them process donations for their annual telethon event through the use of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) call handling services; as their resources were unable to satisfy increasing enquiries due to the event’s growing popularity. The client wanted the fundraising services to be managed in their entirety from concept generation through to creation, delivery and reporting. In response we created new procedures for automatically processing high volumes of calls, which enhanced operational efficiency and enabled the client to successfully satisfy increasing enquiries in a timely and effective manner.
Our partnership with Children in Need has grown from strength to strength since then, which is why we now support so many different elements of their ongoing operations and fundraising activities; a prime example of this was the Countryfile Ramble that took place just last week. The Ramble involves members of the public of all ages and abilities taking part in a number of walks led by Countryfile presenters to help raise money for Children in Need. To support the Ramble our team at GFM created and managed the event sign-up website and all associated draws and communications.
