GFM ClearComms raises over £700 for Children in Need

In honour of Children in Need, we held a number of fun-filled activities and friendly competitions at our head offices in Colchester on November 17th that helped raise over £700 for the BBC’s UK charity.

Since 1980 Children in Need has raised over £700 million to help change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK, and this year its live show raised over £50 million; smashing its previous record for the most money raised on the night. Children in Need’s infamous mascot Pudsey Bear may not have been in attendance for our event but this did not stop our staff from getting into the spirit of the day by sporting yellow clothes, polka dots and Pudsey ears.

Pudsey Power!

Among the many fundraising activities that took place on the day one member of staff, Michael Goulding, participated in a sponsored silence and another, Tom Brass, cut off his hair and in doing so the pair helped raise an impressive £380.50 towards our grand total. Employees also took part in the ‘GFM Bake Off’ and ‘Best Decorated Department’ competitions with elected Pudsey judges deciding the winners. Afterwards employees were able to indulge in the many yellow-themed cakes brought in by staff, again with all donations going to Children in Need.

Calling on our Expertise

Reflecting on the day CEO Peter Sakal stated: “I am always amazed at the creative ideas our team come up with for our fundraising events and this year’s Children in Need day was definitely no exception. At GFM ClearComms our interest in the charities we support goes beyond financial donations and we also supported the Children in Need telethon with our expert call handling and donation processing services.”
