At GFM ClearComms we decided to get into the spirit of things this Easter week by holding an ‘eggciting’ egg hunt and fundraiser in aid of Families InFocus Essex, which helped raise £260.30 for the local charity based in Chelmsford.
Established in 1996 Families InFocus is a leading independent parent led charity providing holistic support to families of children with disabilities and special needs across Essex, who require advice, information and support, particularly at times of change, challenge and crisis. Their service is accessible to all families from Essex whatever their background, as long as at least one child or young person in the family between the age of 0 to 25 has a disability or special need. They aim to give caring, practical and confidential support whilst empowering families to consider the choices available to them and make the best use of available services. Families InFocus’ services are seen as essential, invaluable and tailored to meet the needs of our families in an accessible, proactive and positive way.
As part of the charity event, staff were welcomed to work with Easter themed treats that had been kindly created and donated by employees before the commencement of the fundraising activities, which included an egg hunt, best-decorated department competition and guess the number of mini eggs in a jar challenge. In the afternoon our employees took part in the ‘Great Easter Bake Off’ with elected judges deciding the winning entries. Afterwards employees were able to indulge in the many cakes brought in by staff, again with all donations going to Families InFocus.
Reflecting on the day Beverley McIntyre, COO at GFM ClearComms, said: “The work that the team at Families InFocus do to help families in the local area is truly amazing and we are delighted to be able to help support them. As always it is brilliant to see how much effort all our staff continue to do to help raise crucial funds for our selected charities. This is just one of many initiatives we have planned for this year at GFM and just last week we did a fundraiser for Sports Relief.”
