GFM Fundraiser March 2018

Every month our staff here at GFM ClearComms hold various fundraising events to help support local charities and this month was no exception with members of our contact centre team participating in a dress down day fundraiser that helped raise £98.29 for local homelessness charity Beacon House.

Beacon House Colchester

Beacon House is a Day Centre in central Colchester which offers essential healthcare and wellbeing facilities to those who are homeless, in insecure accommodation, or at high risk of homelessness. From their current base, Beacon House provides open access to the following; a Primary Care Clinic, occupational therapy activities, hot meals, tea and coffee, laundry services, showers and washroom facilities, a life skills development centre and housing advice. Recognising that there are many reasons why individuals become homeless, the charity operates on the three principles of acceptance, empowerment, and change, offering opportunities for their visitors to move forward and get themselves ‘back on track’. Approx. 40 people visit Beacon House every single day.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance

Back in February we also held a dress down day fundraiser for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, successfully raising £106.26 on that occasion. Established in 1997, Essex Air Ambulance aims to save lives, reduce or prevent disability, or suffering from critical illness and injury, by delivering a first class pre-hospital emergency medical service to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Without access to National Lottery funding and with limited support from the Government they continue to rely upon the generosity and goodwill of people and businesses in Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives. Their eventual goal is to operate 24/7 but only with the public’s ongoing support will this be achievable.

GFM ClearComms Giving Back – Colchester

Reflecting on the recent fundraisers our COO Beverley McIntyre stated: “At GFM we realise the importance of giving back to our local community and there are many great causes and charities in Colchester that enable us to do so. It is amazing to see how much effort all of our staff put in to fundraise every single month. This is just one of many fundraising initiatives we have planned for this year at GFM.”
