20 Years of Supporting Jeans for Genes Day

September 14, 2017 2:03 pm

GFM ClearComms is proud to announce that we will once again be supporting Jeans for Genes Day, which takes place this year on September 22nd, by holding a fundraising event at our head offices in Colchester that will not only give staff the opportunity to wear denim to work instead of the usual business attire but will also include a company bake off, raffle, quiz and various other fun-filled competitions.

Transforming children’s lives

Jeans for Genes Day is the annual fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK, a national charity that supports individuals and families affected by a genetic disorder. It is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and therefore 30,000 children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year. Monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day funds the work of the charity and provides grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of people with these genetic disorders. This national appeal first started in 1995 and has helped raise over £40 million since then.

GFM ClearComms CEO Peter Sakal stated, “As a long-established business we realise that we are in an extremely fortunate position and therefore look to use our success as an opportunity to help others. We hold fundraising events for organisations like Jeans for Genes because we truly believe in the amazing work that they continue to do. Actively supporting this charity provides us with many opportunities to help families affected by genetic disorders in a practical and tangible way and we will continue to do so in the future, whether it is donating time, money or our marketing and contact centre services.”
